Mississauga’s Steady Rise Culminates with Its Newest Community, The Nine

Anyone living in the Greater Toronto Area has no doubt felt the energy radiating from fast-growing Mississauga, now officially Canada’s sixth-largest city. The sheer diversity of its population gives this city bordering Toronto an undeniably exciting undercurrent of “anything’s possible.”

Most recently, one new neighbourhood has generated quite a buzz: The Nine, a vibrant new community built on the last parcel of green space available for new homes in Mississauga. Designed to harness the high-octane energy of this city, The Nine is sure to become a coveted place to call home.

Let's take a look at just a few of the reasons why.

Lifestyle

Made to Move You

The Nine’s prime location provides easy access to a variety of amenities and nature escapes. Keeping active is easy when you have acres of parks, hiking trails, and neighbourhood green spaces all around you, eager to be explored. Many include picnic areas, splash pads, and leash-free zones so the furrier members of the family can experience a dose of freedom too.

Hike the nearby CulhamTrail, organize some team sports at Meadowvale Rotary Park, or head to Hewick Meadows for a little fishing! In total, Mississauga offers more than 400 kilometres of on-road bike lanes, trails, and bike-friendly roadways, with 900 additional kilometres planned over the next 20 years.

If city action is more your style, the area is well-served by 400-series highways, MiWay, and GO Transit, providing you access to everything in both Mississauga and Toronto.

Good Things Are Happening Here

For the past few years, Mississauga has been highly motivated when it comes to development. Take the waterfront, near the Port Credit GO Station, for example. The city plans to revitalize this entire area by creating a 1.5-kilometre beach. This beach will include a lengthy boardwalk featuring a bevy of shops, cafés, fine dining, pubs, eco gardens, and more!

There’s also the development of the forthcoming Hurontario LRT, which will boast 22 stops and connect with the Milton and Lakeshore West GO lines, as well as link up to MiWay, Brampton Transit, Züm, and Mississauga Transitway at Square One.

To help Mississauga residents stay active, the upcoming Churchill Meadows Community Centre will feature a 25-metre, six lane pool and triple gymnasium. With tournament-level sports fields, a playground, spray pad, and outdoor fitness equipment, there will be plenty of fun ways to stay fit.

Investing in the Future

If that wasn’t enough, Sheridan College and Ryseron University are planning to develop an official “innovation” hub downtown – you can already start to see another population boom coming. It’s not unthinkable to imagine Mississauga positioning itself to be a part of the rapidly advancing tech sector currently thriving in Ontario.

Are you seeing a pattern here? This is a city with a vision.

A Global City

What else makes Mississauga such a wonderful place to live? It’s also one of the most diverse cities in the province, if not the country. In fact, it has become known as something of a destination of choice for new Canadians, an honour the residents there embrace with pride.

One thing’s for sure: if you choose to make a move to Mississauga with a beautiful, thoughtfully designed home in The Nine, don’t be surprised if you yourself get the feeling that you’ve “arrived.”
