Livability and Community

“Mattamy works to combine attainability (the ability to enter the housing market) and affordability (the ability to manage ongoing costs) with livability, building homes that enhance the quality of life.”

Housing Attainability and Affordability

For Mattamy, housing attainability (the ability to enter the housing market) and affordability (the capacity to manage the ongoing costs of home ownership) together define the most important issue facing the homebuilding sector.

Working to address this issue aligns with our commitment to sustainability, as we strongly believe in the economic and social benefits of home ownership. We also recognize that to successfully build environmentally responsible, sustainable homes, customers need to be able to purchase them.

Addressing Attainability and Affordability

In the areas where we can make an impact, Mattamy is working to reduce the cost of purchasing and operating a home. We are continually making incremental improvements that, applied across home design and construction, can improve value.

We have assembled a new integrated Product Development team that brings design, engineering and costing together to achieve better affordability outcomes. We are exploring new product lines designed to be efficient, attractive and value-focused, and reimagining ideas that made home ownership accessible to earlier generations.

Mattamy is also working with all levels of government in the jurisdictions where we operate to determine whether we can positively influence other factors affecting housing costs.

Customer Satisfaction

In a marketplace dominated by the issue of “attainability and affordability,” homebuilders must look for every opportunity to add value for customers and to the homebuying process. This is especially true for Mattamy, as we take our mission to provide the best homeowner experience seriously and to heart. In FY2026, we built on the foundation laid in FY2025 to achieve this goal.

Our Mattamy Homes Canada Customer Service pillars establish a clear baseline for our teams, empowering them to consistently reflect on, evaluate and strengthen how they deliver our commitment to our customers.

Land Use and Ecology

Opportunities to connect with nature are essential to creating a vibrant community. In the communities Mattamy develops, we work to preserve the local environment and enhance people’s experience of the natural world.
