How does Mattamy Homes support the communities where it operates?

Does Mattamy have a corporate social responsibility or community giving program?

Yes. Giving back is an important part of how Mattamy operates. Through our MattamyCares program, we support charitable organizations and community initiatives across North America. We also encourage team member involvement through our Mattamy Volunteer Program (MVP), which offers paid volunteer days, charitable donation matching and community volunteer grants.

What is the Peter Gilgan Foundation?

The Peter Gilgan Foundation (PGF) is the charitable organization established by Mattamy founder Peter Gilgan. Since 2006, the Foundation has invested in initiatives that strengthen communities and improve lives in Canada and around the world. While the Foundation operates independently with its own mission, governance and funding priorities, it is funded by Mattamy Homes and its success.

 

As of 2026, the Foundation has made $420 million in lifetime commitments to hospitals and health care, including landmark investments in organizations such as SickKids, Unity Health Toronto, Trillium Health Partners and The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

What causes does the Peter Gilgan Foundation support?

The Peter Gilgan Foundation focuses on creating meaningful, long-term impact through investments in children, youth and families, climate change, international development, Indigenous youth and health care. Through strategic partnerships and charitable investments, the Foundation works to address some of society's most pressing challenges and create stronger, healthier and more sustainable communities.
