Mattamy on the Greenway: Ride for a Cause
Raising $30,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society
In August 2023, Mattamy Homes’ Alberta Division geared up to ride the Rotary/Mattamy Greenway, a 145-kilometre pathway system located in Calgary, Alberta for the Mattamy on the Greenway: Ride for a Cause event.
Through this event, team members biked 40-kilometres on the Greenway to help fundraise for the Canadian Cancer Society, in support of loved ones who have faced the battle against cancer, and in support of one of their own team members who recently overcame a cancer diagnosis. Together, through the team’s collective efforts, they raised more than $30,000, surpassing their fundraising goal.
After the 40-kilometre bike ride, a celebration took place alongside volunteers and representatives from the Rotary Club, Canadian Cancer Society and other fundraising sponsors with live entertainment and food.
“Cancer hits close to home for me and many Mattamy team members. In addition, one of our very own team members recently overcame his own difficult diagnosis and fight against cancer. The goal of Ride the Greenway is for us here at Mattamy to make the most of the incredible pathway system we have helped build as well as support a charitable organization near and dear to us. We hope to make this an annual event where we select a different charity to support each year.”
