Customer Care FAQs

What warranty does Mattamy provide on its homes?

Mattamy Homes provides a Limited Warranty on every new home we build. This warranty is delivered in compliance with the terms of your Home Purchase Agreement and is fully managed by Mattamy Homes — no third-party administrator is involved in your warranty coverage.

What does the Mattamy warranty cover, and for how long?

The Mattamy Homes Limited Warranty generally includes: one year of coverage for workmanship and materials on original installation (including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, windows, roofing, and doors); two years of coverage on certain mechanical systems; and a 10-year limited structural warranty covering structural slabs, footings, foundations, load-bearing framing, and roof trusses. Specific coverage standards, tolerances, and exclusions are detailed in your warranty documentation. Note that only work performed by Mattamy or its subcontractors is covered — modifications or additions made after closing are not warranted by Mattamy.

How do I contact Mattamy's customer care team after I move in?

After closing, Mattamy homeowners are supported by a dedicated Customer Care and Warranty Service team in their local division. Your Customer Care Coordinator's contact information will be provided at the time of your home orientation. For any warranty service requests, you are encouraged to contact your local Warranty Service Office directly. Additional contact options and resources for homeowners are available at mattamyhomes.com.

What is the difference between a builder warranty and homeowners insurance?

A builder warranty, like the Mattamy Homes Limited Warranty, covers defects in workmanship, materials, and structural components resulting from the construction of the home. Homeowners insurance, on the other hand, covers your home's structure and personal belongings in the event of damage caused by covered perils such as fire, theft, or certain natural events. Both forms of protection are important — the builder warranty protects against construction-related issues, while homeowners insurance protects against unexpected events and hazards. Mattamy strongly recommends that all homeowners maintain active homeowners insurance coverage from the time of closing.
