Mattamy hires students from various undergraduate programs including construction, architecture, finance, engineering, marketing and more. Apply your classroom knowledge and unique perspective in a real-world setting while developing your expertise through a four- or eight-month term. With hands-on experience and even the possibility to be hired full-time upon graduation, student placements help you build your career, one step at a time.
The Construction Leadership Internship Program provides real construction experience to post-secondary students in construction management programs, giving exposure to both site and office operations. Students enrolled in the program have the opportunity to job shadow professionals throughout their four-month term, gaining mentorship and invaluable learnings.
The Professional Engineering Year (PEY) Program enables University of Toronto undergraduate students who have recently completed your second or third year of engineering studies to build meaningful work experience, strengthen professional networks and enhance interpersonal and technical competencies via 16-month placements. Our GTA Urban Division hires PEYs to work in office and site based construction roles.
The Pre-Construction Leadership Development Program (PLDP) is a new grad rotational program in our GTA Low Rise Division where full-time new hires move through 24 months of placements within our Architecture, Procurement and Construction teams – all the moving parts before breaking ground. Following program completion, successful graduates will move into pre-construction roles such as Junior Contracts Manager, Junior Estimator, Assistant Builder or Associate Architecture Project Manager.
Mattamy’s Finance Leadership Development Program is for aspiring Certified Public Accounting (CPA) professionals passionate about building a career as a Finance or Accounting leader in the homebuilding space. We are a CPA Ontario pre-approved employer, and our program is designed to support new finance and accounting graduates with 30 months of relevant work experience, coupled with mentorship, senior level visibility, as well as time-off and financial support towards obtaining your CPA designation.
As a CPA Ontario pre-approved employer, Mattamy supports recent grads interested in obtaining their CPA designation. Individuals accepted into Mattamy’s CPA Program receive monetary support and mentorship as well as approved absence from work to help you prepare for your exams.

An internal mentorship program that matches team members with leaders from across Canada. For a six-month duration, leaders share their wisdom and guidance through open communication – all in support of helping you grow and develop in your career.
Be yourself. We want it that way! The Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Council at Mattamy is an 11-person council – representing different dimensions of diversity as well as locations, role levels and functions – that helps set and execute our diversity and inclusion goals and initiatives.
The Advisory Leadership Team (ALT) is an 11-person committee that provides insight and support to the Canadian Leadership Team’s objectives. ALT evaluates strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities for the company and the homebuilding industry, with a current focus on our industry’s skilled trades shortage.
In line with Mattamy’s sustainability efforts, all Canadian co-op students are placed in cross-disciplinary teams to research a sustainability topic as part of their work term. Led by a local Sustainability Manager, students dedicate time each week to their project. At the end of the term, select teams have the opportunity to present their findings to senior leaders, with the goal of the winning idea being implemented.
Led by a group of passionate Mattamy team members, each Culture Committee (one at every office across Canada) focuses on enhancing the local work environment by hosting fun and engaging events and initiatives. Mattamy is committed to building exceptional communities both on sites and in offices, and this is one of the ways we do just that.
