Honouring Veterans Through the Gift of Home
To date, Mattamy has welcomed 13 veterans and their families into new homes through partnerships with organizations including Helping a Hero and Operation: Coming Home.
In 2025, Mattamy welcomed a veteran to her new home in the company's Tradition community in Port St. Lucie, Florida, through Helping a Hero. The home marks the second partnership between Mattamy's Southeast Florida Division and the organization.
Founded in 2006, Helping a Hero provides specially adapted homes and support for service members who have sustained severe injuries while serving their country. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to recognizing the sacrifices made by veterans and helping them build a strong foundation for the future.
"I've seen firsthand the sacrifices my brothers and sisters in uniform have made, and some gave the ultimate sacrifice. I'm deeply grateful that Mattamy empowers us to partner with Helping a Hero. It's a meaningful opportunity to give back in a way that honors that sacrifice and helps veterans and their families create a place to call home.”
- Jose Becerra, Vice President of Purchasing for Mattamy's Southeast Florida Division and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran
Mattamy's support for veterans extends beyond Florida. In North Carolina, the company's Raleigh Division partners with Operation: Coming Home, an initiative dedicated to honoring injured American veterans and their families through homeownership opportunities.
The most recent home was donated in 2022 in the division's Providence Creek community in Fuquay-Varina. The next home will mark the third donated by Mattamy Homes through the program and the eleventh overall by Royal Oaks, which joined Mattamy in 2017.
“There is nothing more rewarding than helping provide a home for someone who has sacrificed so much in service to our country. A home is where families gather, milestones are celebrated and memories are made. We are proud to support veterans and their families by helping create a place where those moments can happen for years to come.”
- Bob Wiggins, President of Mattamy's Raleigh Division
Through these partnerships, Mattamy continues to support veterans not only with the gift of a home, but with the opportunity to put down roots, build community and begin their next chapter.
